During the 2018-2019 season the Rogue Valley Chorale Association welcomed incoming artistic director Michael Morris. Concert highlights included the commissioning of a choral composition titled Cuicapeuhcayotl (Origin of the Songs) by Joseph Julian Gonzalez written in the Nahuatl (Aztec) language. The piece was debuted in Medford, Ore
gon on March 23 and 24. A week later the Chorale raveled to Burns, Oregon to perform the work on the Paiute Reservation as a component of a cultural sharing project. The Paiute are Uto Aztecan descendants and hail from the Nahuatl language family.
