Children’s Chorus Auditions

Auditions for the third through fifth/sixth grade Children’s Choruses are held three times each year:  early September and January just before each season begins, and May for the following fall season.

Auditions are not difficult and generally take about 10 minutes. Children will be asked to sing “Happy Birthday To You” to check their vocal range. We ask about musical experience, although none is required. We assess each singer’s ability to match pitch. You can assist your child by practicing this skill with them. We understand that a young child’s voice is still developing. If your child is struggling to match pitches, encourage practice by singing along with favorite songs. We do not want any child to feel anxious about auditioning. Help your child focus on the sheer joy of singing.

Cantare Chorus and Youth Ensemble Auditions

Cantare Chorus (grades 6-8) and Youth Ensemble (grades 9-12) seek quality singers for Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass parts. The choruses offer three open rehearsals in which interested singers may participate.
