The Rogue Valley Youth Choruses was founded by Doris Sjolund during the 1982-1983 season under the name Rogue Valley Children’s Chorus.

Chorale Fall Concert, November 22 and 23, 1982
Vaughan Williams’ Magnificat and Brahms’ Rhapsody were the featured works furing the Chorale’s Fall, ’82 concert. Mira Frohnmayer and Paul Olson were the guest soloists.

Rogue Valley Chorale/Rogue Valley Symphony Collaboration,
March 11 and 13, 1983

Ten Year Celebration Begins May 6, 1983
The Chorale began celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special concert comprised of past repertoire. Included in the concert was a ten piece string orchestra.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Mary Kay Harmon, John Leavens, Karen Foster, Leslie Hall, Judy Cushing and Esther Gilsdorf all wrote lyrics to well-known tunes to celebrate the occasion.
