Rogue Valley Chorale Association
Celebrating the 40th Anniversary this season the Children’s Chorus led by Director Gerry Flock since 2005. This special program serves singers in grades 3, 4, and 5 from our public, private, and home schools. The repertoire is selected to fit the skills of beginning singers and varies widely from established classical works to art and folk songs, spirituals, jazz, and contemporary arrangements.
Cantare Chorus is an auditioned group of talented singers in grades 6-8 from around the Rogue Valley. Interim Director Gerry Flock leads this mixed voice chorus, singing age-appropriate literature, performs throughout the year in local theaters, for community groups and regional choral festivals. Many of the singers began their choral experience in the Children’s Chorus and audition for Cantare with a desire to expand their musicianship and choral experience
The Youth Ensemble truly offers an enriching, extra-curricular chorus experience for advanced high school singers in the area to inspire this chorus made up of 9-12 grade students. We are excited to welcome our interim Director Mr. Chris Bingham. In addition to the two concerts, the chorus performs with the Children’s Chorus and Cantare other opportunities exist to sing for a variety of business, charitable, and private events throughout the year as well as summer tours.
For over four decades the Rogue Valley Chorale has been at the heart of the arts scene in Southern Oregon. The 100 members who make up the Chorale are men and women with diverse musical backgrounds including professional singers, actors, music educators and gifted vocalists who simply love to sing.
